There are many ways that you can improve your property without the need to put up big bucks and bring in heavy equipment. All you need is to know the right hacks.
As a disclaimer, I will note that any structural or functional issue in your property needs proper addressing. In such cases, repairs and renovations are necessary without any shortcuts. However, you can execute numerous redecorating methods and strategies that can beautify your home and attract buyers or renters.
Repaint your walls
Applying a fresh coat instantly changes the atmosphere of a room. This will require some tedious work but it is something you can do without the need for any heavy equipment or extra labour. Repaint your walls, ceiling, and even cabinets to give your property an appealing new look.
Clean and regrout your tile lines
Even if you keep the floor sparkling clean and glossy, its appearance can be ruined by dirty grout lines. These narrow spaces in between the tiles can collect dust and grease over time, eventually turning a nasty black. You can refresh your tiles by cleaning and regrouting the lines. This will brighten up the place and make it more spacious but in such a subtle way that people will not notice right away what changed exactly.
Use peel-and-stick vinyl tiles

Change your hardware
Never underestimate the power of details. Hardware such as cabinet handles, towel racks, or curtain cleats are often overlooked but they can work wonders in any room. These tiny items complete the look of a space the way jewellery and accessories do to an outfit. There are dozens of modern-style hardware available in shops and you can easily install them yourself. Just make sure that you buy them as a set so all your cabinets and drawers are uniform.
Update bathroom fixtures
Even if you do not have a bathtub with a five-digit price tag, you can still have a luxurious-looking bathroom by upgrading your plumbing fixtures and accessories. There are tons of modern-style faucets and showerheads available in the market and you can install them yourself with a little research and some elbow grease. Otherwise, a local plumber will be happy to do it for you.
Aside from your plumbing outlets, you can also install fancy hooks, towel racks, and shelvings.
Upgrade your lighting
What’s unique about lighting is that it is one of the elements in your house that is non-tangible. You cannot really touch or see it, which is why many people tend to pay little attention to it. However, its existence goes beyond its necessity. There are many ways that you can use lighting for both functional and aesthetic purposes.
Consider installing LED lights underneath your kitchen to illuminate your countertops. You can also stick them inside your shelving to create a mini showroom. If you have an accent wall, try enhancing it with spotlights or track lights. For a touch of grandeur, consider putting in a chandelier or a droplight.
